Thulium fiber laser (TFL) enucleation of the prostate in Kiel
Educator / speaker:
The Department of Urology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel, is one of Germany’s leading centers for state-of-the-art urological therapies. A key area of surgical focus is the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) using innovative, minimally invasive procedures. As an internationally recognized pioneer, Prof. Bach and his team have acquired outstanding expertise since 2005 and have played a key role in shaping the development of laser enucleation of the prostate. Focus is placed on thulium fiber laser (TFL) enucleation, which offers exceptional precision and serves as a particularly tissue-sparing and low-bleeding alternative to traditional surgery, even in cases of very large prostate volumes. Thanks to the close integration of many years of clinical experience and cutting-edge university research at the Kiel location, patients benefit from personalized therapy plans that ensure a rapid recovery and the long-term preservation of quality of life in accordance with the latest scientific standards.
