Human beings use their two eyes to gain orientation within a space. ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD also uses two eyes to generate an image of a space.

3DHD – maximum image quality

Up to now, users have had to decide between 3D and high-resolution HD. This entails a choice between the detailed image of a 3-chip camera head and the 3D image of smaller, weaker sensors. Both advantages are combined in the ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD: Two 3-chip HD sensors permit maximum 3D image quality in Full HD!

Natural spatial display through distortion-free endoscopes

The natural stereo 3D imaging of the ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD system already starts with the high-quality 3D endoscopes. The many years of expertise gained by Richard Wolf in 3D endoscopy and in the development of comparable endoscopes forms the platform for the new camera system. The two optical channels are free of distortion and display the space in correct geometrical configuration without any unnatural curvatures.

Connections and monitors

ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD has three HD SDI 3D pairs as outputs. These can be connected, e.g. to three professional 3D monitors, or viewed individually as 2D images. Naturally, users can use the controller to toggle quickly between the conventional 2D image and stereoscopic 3D image during operation.
Richard Wolf recommends professional 3D monitors in 32" format with light 3D polarizer glasses as a 3D monitor in the operating room.
