Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM) has become an established method of treating local, benign expansive lesions or low-risk rectum carcinomas. Transanal single-port surgery is an advancement and current trend in this field. The single-port systems known from minimally invasive abdominal surgery can now be used in transanal procedures.
The new KeyPort flex system, therefore, was developed based on the KeyPort system. With this product, Richard Wolf is able to offer a cost-effective and simple single-port solution for both transanal and laparoscopy, colorectal single-port surgery.
A flexible, disposable tube is a main component of the KeyPort flex system. Thanks to its specially selected hardness, this silicone tube offers adequate stability and atraumatic flexibility at the same time. The special geometry, tapering in the centre and having a silicone ring at the distal end, provides enough space for the surgical procedure while ensuring a reliable hold in both the anal canal and the abdominal wall.
The combination of disposable and reusable components makes the KeyPort flex an economical yet flexible single-port system.
