OtoscopyThe endoscopic examination most frequently carried out on small animals is the adspection of the acoustic meatus, called otoscopy. A disease of the acoustic meatus, mostly in dogs, less frequently in cats, and easy accessibility often call for this method. In addition to diagnostics it is of course also possible to carry out therapeutic measures such as the removal of foreign bodies or irrigation/aspiration via the examination sheath with a 3-way stopcock adapter. In conjunction with video documentation the treatment can be checked, stored in the patient file and therefore also displayed for the animal owner when establishing a diagnosis. |
