ArthroscopyArthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical method for the diagnosis and treatment of joint problems. There is an ever increasing interest and quick progress in small-animal arthroscopy. Such progress has only been possible thanks to the development of small-diameter arthroscopes and the corresponding auxiliary instruments. Arthroscopic surgery in small animals has also undergone an enormous further development. Over the past few years osteochondrosis (OCD) in the shoulder joint as well as OCD and FPC of the ellbow joint using a simple triangle technology have been become routine operations. Telescopes with diameters between 1.9 and 2.7 mm are used in small-animal arthroscopy. Thanks to its brilliant image quality and its working length of 95 mm, the 2.4 mm universal telescope is one of the telecopes most frequently used in arthroscopy. In conjunction with video documentation the treatment can be checked, stored in the patient file and therefore also displayed for the animal owner when establishing a diagnosis.
