SurgerySurgery is dealing with the diagnosis and therapy of diseases and injuries as a result of a direct impact on the body. The term surgery originally comes from the ancient greek words for hand and work. The litteral translation of surgeon therefore is "hand worker".
Minimally Invasive Surgery MISIn clinics as well as in practices, the future belongs to endoscopic or minimally invasive surgery. As it is gentle on the patients, user-friendly and cost-saving, minimally invasive surgery is the adequate solution in health care today.
Endoscopic SurgeryIn endoscopic surgery, and especially in laparoscopic surgery, the inner organs of the abdominal cavity and thorax are diagnosed and treated. The examinations are carried out via an endoscopic system that is placed via one or several trocars. A xenon light source illuminates the operating area via the endoscope. For surgical intervention today, high-definition video cameras are used. This provides more reliable information than non-invasive preexamination, such as ultrasound or X-ray control. Advantages of endoscopic surgery are:
As endoscopic surgery means reduced traumatization, the patient's blood loss is also reduced. Fewer so-called adhesions occur. The cosmetic results after endoscopic interventions are clearly better than after conventional surgery. On the left navigation bar you find further information on the different surgical disciplines.
