Richard Wolf Endoscopes - Reprocessing
Richard Wolf Endoscopes - Reprocessing

Reprocessability of medical products is an essential part of the development process. On the one hand the latest reprocessing standards, guidelines and laws must be adhered to, and on the other hand the materials used must be resistant to the usual reprocessing methods.

To guarantee the perfect condition of the reprocessed products while optimising handling in the reprocessing department(CSSD) and in the OR, Richard Wolf offers well thought-out storage systems and suitable accessories for reprocessing.

In particular when being machine-reprocessed, telescopes require storage systems offering comprehensive protection from mechanical damage and preventing premature deterioration of these sensitive medical products.

Reprocessing of Endoscopes and Instruments

Correct reprocessing and care of medical products has a considerable impact on product service life.

Use of cleaning agents and disinfectants

Richard Wolf recommends using only the products that have been tested by us for material compatibility. If you use other cleaning agents or disinfectants, you may get a confirmation certifying the material compatibility of our endoscopes with the reprocessing products from the product manufacturer. Please find a list below providing an overview of certified chemicals for reprocessing.

Dosage of solution

Damaged surfaces such as plastic surfaces, may occur due to an excessively high concentration of the solution, considerably reducing the instruments' service life. In addition, this will unnecessarily increase the cost of cleaning agents and disinfectants.

Specified immersion times

Please follow the specified immersion (or exposure) times of the cleaning agents and disinfectants that should by no means be exceeded. In working channels and tube systems, cleaning agents and disinfectants accumulate and can cause damage.

Change between manual and machine reprocessing

When changing between manual and machine reprocessing make sure that the reprocessing agents are compatible.

Clogged working channels

Cleaning working channels and stopcocks with pointed metal objects often causes damage to the instruments and endoscopes. Please use our cleaning brushes and recommended tools for this purpose.

Certified chemicals for reprocessing

The material compatibility of the following chemicals has been approved for use in
rigid endoscopes, flexible endoscopes (fiberscopes) and instruments.

The material compatibility with RICHARD WOLF products only relates to the use of
the reprocessing chemicals listed below. Due to the large number of chemicals on
the market, possible interaction with other products cannot be taken into account.
The manufacturer's instructions on exposure time, concentration and use must be
followed. Also make sure that no residues remain on the instruments.
