Amnioscopes for diagnostic examination. Amnioscopy (visualization of the amniotic fluid) is used when the pregnancy extends approx. 13 days beyond term. For the examination an amnioscope is inserted through the vagina into the cervix which is already open, and the amniotic fluid is examined. Amnioscopy allows the supply of the child in the uterus to be judged in order to induce labor on time if necessary. Richard Wolf amnioscopes are graduated and include a light cable adapter including a anti-glare tube with integrated filter.
