The Richard Wolf Instrument Set for full-endoscopic surgery on the lumbar spine

Knittlingen in September 2009 – Degenerative diseases of the spinal column form a significant focus in medical practices. The range of indications corresponding wide and the choice of therapeutic options available is appropriately varied. The anatomical conditions and the extent of degenerative change determine the procedures and access that can be used during surgical procedures.
The VERTEBRIS lumbar Instrument Set is intended for a wide range of indications involving endoscopic operations on the lumbar spine. The area of application for the instrument set is the interlaminar or transforaminal port at the lumbar and thoracic spine.
The aim is to reduce nerve compression by achieving a reduction in volume and pressure. Resection of bone may also be necessary in order to achieve the desired reduction in of stress exerted on neuronal structures.
Endoscopes with 25° viewing angle deliver consistently good visualization of the epidural space. A range of rigid, flexible and articulated instruments can be used with endoscopic visualizaiton through the working channel measuring 3.1 or 4.1 mm in diameter integrated in the endoscope. A range of abrading and high-speed power instruments is available for removal of bone.
