Laser applications for intracorporeal lithotripsy

The two MegaPulse30+ systems feature a Holmium YAG Laser with a peak power rating of 30 watts. The new lasers achieve this power through a much higher energy level of up to 4.000 mJ and a much higher frequency of up to 25 Hz. This is even sufficient for stone dusting, a procedure with high frequency (20-25 Hz) and low energy (200-400 mJ). It enables stone fragments to be pulverized and simply flushed out, without having to use stone extraction baskets.
MegaPulse Desktop 30+ develops the highest power output possible for a desktop unit. The mobile Minitower with the same performance is the alternative to the desktop. The lasers have a power identification. This means that the laser regulates the individual maximum output power to ensure that e.g. thin fibers cannot be overloaded. A specific power spectrum is therefore available for each fiber. A total of six laser fibers (core Ø of 200 µm to 1000 µm) are available for disposable and resusable applications.
